Pacific Northwest Railroad Archive (PNRA) published an updated Digital Archive Plan in August 2018, following the completion of our Phase 2 Digital Archive Project. This phase created a test website where we uploaded cataloged records describing a set of our collections which are compliant with Describing Archives: A Content Standard (DACS). Rachael Christine Woody worked with PNRA to help us develop the DACS-specific language to describe our railroad terms and processes. Any other AKCHO organizations that have contemplated converting their collection catalog to DACS search standards will be interested in reviewing PNRA’s updated plan.
The original Digital Archive Plan presented to AKCHO by Elizabeth Knight in 2016 has been updated to incorporate the lessons learned in the Phase 2 project. The full Plan has been placed on PNRA’s website: www.PNRArchive.org to provide access for everyone. If you have questions regarding our Digital Archive Plan or our Phase 2 project, please send them to info@PNRArchive.org.
