AKCHO Annual Awards Program

The Association of King County Historical Organizations annually recognizes outstanding achievement in heritage activities through a series of awards to organizations and individuals.  This is a time for the historical community to come together to share achievements and what’s happening within King County.  We hope you can join us.

The 2019 AKCHO Awards for activities conducted in 2018 and the annual Board and Board Legacy Awards recognizing individual and organizational long-term achievement will be presented at a gathering Tuesday, April 30, at the Northwest African American Museum, 2300 S. Massachusetts Ave, Seattle. King County Council Chair Rod Dembowski will be the emcee for the evening.

The event will include an opportunity to visit the galleries, enjoy refreshments and the presentation of awards. A display table will be available for AKCHO member organizations to each post a handout, brochure or other printed item (space is limited so each organization may offer just one item). The event is open to all.

The schedule for the evening is

5 pm  Registration opens and galleries are available for viewing

5:15 – 6:30 pm  Light refreshments in the Legacy Hall

   6:30 – 8 pm  Awards Program

AKCHO is very appreciative of the generous Awards Program sponsors

ABOUT THIS NEWSLETTER

Heritage Advisor is published by the Association of King County Historical Organizations as a service to members and those who support its mission. AKCHO was established in 1977 to encourage cooperation among historical organizations; promote and encourage the study and preservation of the history and heritage of King County through member organizations, individual members, and the community they serve; and support such preservation efforts through public awareness and understanding of legislative issues.

The Heritage Advisor welcomes submissions of news items, calendar items, and opinion columns from AKCHO members, HA subscribers, and readers. Articles are limited to 300 words and they should have a strong relevance to historic preservation and heritage issues in King County, Washington. Submission of an article does not guarantee publication. AKCHO does not pay for published submissions. All articles are subject to review by AKCHO staff. Please send your article within the body of an email (no attachments, please) to heritageadvisor@akcho.org.

AKCHO welcomes new members year round. Individual memberships are $25, and we have a three-tiered system for organizational memberships, with dues dependent on budget size. For more information and an application form, visit http://www.akcho.org/members.
