The WMA’s 2013 conference takes place in Ellensburg this year. “Museums at the Center of Community: Representative, Reflective and Relevant,” will include a keynote address from Spokane-based teacher and naturalist Jack Nisbet. His recent focus on the Scottish naturalist David Douglas has resulted in two books, and Nisbet and his wife Claire have curated a new exhibit built around Douglas’ journeys through the Northwest. The exhibit will run at the MAC until August 24, then travel to the Washington State History Museum, where it will open on September 21.
