Revisiting The Spirit Returns

Join Heidi Bohan, exhibit curator at the Duwamish Longhouse, and Maggie Kase, Curator at the Southwest Seattle Historical Society, for an illuminating discussion of the collaborative effort to re-imagine the exhibit, The Spirit Returns, which first debuted at the Log House Museum two decades ago. Bohan and Kase will provide a brief overview of the exhibit, which investigates the relationship between the Duwamish Tribe and the first permanent EuroAmerican settlers on the Duwamish Peninsula in the 1850s, and discuss how reinterpreting historical narratives can provide opportunities to provide more accurate and equitable understanding of past events.
