A few items FYI:

A full album of photos from AKCHO’s Annual Awards meeting in April is now available online by clicking here. Members are welcome to make use of the photos in their newsletters – please use the following credit line: Photo by Kimberly Jacobsen, courtesy of AKCHO.

AKCHO’s May membership meeting at the Renton Civic Theatre featured a documentary on the Longacres racetrack. The program was sponsored by the Washington State Jewish Historical Society in honor of May being Jewish Heritage Month and as part of their year of Instant Replay: Featuring Washington Jews in Sports.

And finally, remember to visit AKCHO’s online calendar regularly this summer. Many upcoming events deal with the 50-year anniversary of the Seattle World’s Fair. One of the highlights will be a performance of “The Future Remembered” at the building that once housed Gracie Hanson’s notorious floor show during the Fair, and that now serves as Ravensdale’s community center! (More on that show, scheduled for July 7, in our next issue of Heritage Advisor.) Many other events are happening this month as well: the Welsh Heritage Festival, the Eastside Heritage Center’s Bellevue Strawberry Festival, the Redmond Centennial, the Wooden Boat Festival — garden tours, lectures, picnics and more!  Details all in one convenient place on AKCHO’s online calendar.
