In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the 1962 World’s Fair, the Washington Museum Association Annual Conference is coming to Seattle, June 13-15, 2012. With the Century 21 Exposition’s futuristic vision in mind, the WMA has selected “The Next 50: Innovation, Inspiration and Sustained Futures for Museums” as the conference theme, and will be holding all sessions and events at Seattle Center, the site of the fair.
The 2012 WMA Conference in Seattle is a great opportunity for King County-based museums to roll out the welcome mat to colleagues from around the state and region, and to showcase your programs. Plan to register early and attend the conference (volunteers at the conference receive a reduced registration fee). You may wish to offer free or reduced admission to your facility for badge-wearing conference goers. The WMA also encourages you to submit session proposals related to the conference theme, and to your institution or work.
If you have questions or suggestions about your organization’s involvement in the 2012 WMA Conference, contact Eric Taylor at eric.taylor@4culture.org or by phone at 206-296-8688.
