Austin Arts Specialist Tapped for MOACA

Self-Serve Research at King Co Archives
The King County Archives has opened a self-service microfilm research area. Primarily for researching documents recorded with the King County Auditor, 1853-1969, and the King County Recorder’s Office, 1969-2004, the self-service research area also has public service terminals that provide access to those recorded documents that have been imaged by the Recorder’s Office. Port on Film
A new documentary titled “Voices of the Port†commemorates the Port of Seattle’s 100th anniversary. Directed by Vaun Raymond, the 30-minute film will be used to help kick off this year’s annual Pacific Northwest Historians Guild conference at a March 4 gala event, or you can watch it online at www.seattlechannel.org/
Show MOHAI Your Celluloid

Iron Goat Inventory
Thirty-five boxes have been inventoried by the Skykomish Historical Society in the first phase of preservation for the Ruth Ittner Iron Goat Trail Administrative Records collection. To see the catalogue of their contents, click here and (use the keywords Ruth Ittner collections). These materials are also available for inspection by appointment at the Skykomish Historical Society.

Heritage Advisor is published 10 times a year by the Association of King County Historical Organizations as a service to members and those who support its mission. AKCHO was established in 1977 to: encourage cooperation among historical organizations; promote and encourage the study and preservation of the history and heritage of King County through member organizations, individual members, and the community they serve; and support such preservation efforts through public awareness and understanding of legislative issues.
The Heritage Advisor welcomes submissions of news items, calendar items, and opinion columns from AKCHO members, HA subscribers, and readers. Articles are limited to 300 words and they should have a strong relevance to historic preservation and heritage issues in King County, Washington. Submission of an article does not guarantee publication. AKCHO does not pay for published submissions. All articles are subject to review by AKCHO staff.
